SEATTLE, Wash. - Laura Trevellyan (Jr., Vashon) placed fifth in the women's race, highlighting Western Washington University performances Saturday as the Vikings raced in the open division of the Sundodger Invitational Cross Country Meet at Lincoln Park.

Trevellyan completed the 5,000-meter course in 18:07, helping the women place seventh in an 18-school field. The Western men were 10th out of 19 teams. Keever Henry (R-Fr, Kelso) was the top men's finisher for the Vikings, placing 25th by completing 8,000 meters in 26:30.

Western's Sarah Thon (Fr., Bellingham/Squalicum) was 25th in the women's race, with Kami Burse (Fr., Spokane/Central Valley) (19:56), Molly DePasqual (Jackson, WY) (19:57), and Katrina Schwerdtfeger (Jr., Mountlake Terrace) (19:57) placing 79th, 80th and 81st, respectively.

"The women are starting to come around," said Western coach Pee Wee Halsell. "Trevellyan and Thon had good races, and our pack moved up some from last week."

Logan Senrud (So., Bigfork, MT) was 48th for the Viking men in 26:33, and Keith Lemay (Fr., Lynden/Lynden Christian) was 52nd in 26:36.

"The men are still hobbling a little bit," Halsell said. "That's two good performances for Keever (Henry), and Logan (Senrud) did well this week, too. We're making progress."

Simon Fraser won the team titles for both the men and women. The individual title for the men was claimed by unattached runner Brandon Reiff, who finished in 24:38. The women's individual title went to Julia Howard of Simon Fraser in 17:55.
