Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Senrud, Trevellyan receive team MVP honors
Nov. 17, 2005 BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Logan Senrud (Jr., Bigfork, MT) and Laura Trevellyan (Sr., Vashon/Vashon Island) were voted most valuable men's and women's cross country runners, respectively, by their Western Washington University teammates. Senrud overcame an early-season arch injury to be the top Western men's runner in three races, placing sixth at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships and 17th at the NCAA II West Regional. Trevellyan, a two-time All-American, narrowly missed qualifying for her third consecutive trip to nationals. She led the Viking women in every race, finishing ninth at regionals. The pair were two of eight Western runners honored. Keith Lemay (So., Lynden/Lynden Christian) and Cathy Fjellanger (Jr., Bothell/Woodinville) received Most Improved awards, and Anthony Tomsich (Fr., Fairbanks, AK/West Valley) and Jolene Boogaard (Fr., Kelso) were Rookies of the Year. Receiving Most Inspirational honors were Sam Brancheau (Jr., Edmonds/Edmonds-Woodway) and Shellane Jensen (Fr., Sedro-Woolley). |
