BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Erik Michon had a hat trick in leading Notre Dame de Namur University to a 7-2 win over Western Washington University in a non-league men's soccer contest Saturday night at Orca Field on the Whatcom CC campus.

It was the fifth straight loss for the Vikings, who fell to 1-11-0. Michael Ricci (Fr., Bellevue/Newport) had assists on both Western goals, upping his team-high total to four.

NDNU, which led 4-1 at halftime, improved to 4-2-2. Michon scored the first two Argonaut goals in the 10th and 11th minutes. He also got their last goal in the 80th minute.

Nick Hooper scored twice for NDNU and Anthony Putrus had a goal and assist. Also scoring for the Argonauts was Colin Morikawa.

Trailing 2-0, Western's Joel Grossman (Sr., Anacortes) scored in the 15th minute. Behind 5-1, Gus Zadra (Sr., Poulsbo/North Kitsap) found the net for the Vikings in the 58th minute. It was his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

NDNU had a 15-9 advantage in shots. The seven goals were the most given up by Western since 1997 in a 9-0 loss to Seattle Pacific.

The Vikings play host to Pacific Lutheran University in a non-conference contest Monday (7 p.m.).
