SEATTLE, Wash. - Dustin Wilson (So., Silverdale/Central Kitsap) won the men's 60 meter hurdles to lead eight top three performances by Western Washington University in open section action Sunday at the University of Washington Husky Indoor Track and Field Preview at the Dempsey Indoor facility.

"I'm pleased as heck with our performances," said Western coach Pee Wee Halsell. "We've just been going for a week and a half."

Wilson was timed in 8.57 seconds, with teammate Joshua Freeman (Jr., Bainbridge Island) second in 8.84.

Three other runner-up performances for the Vikings were Ryan Los (Jr., Gig Harbor/Peninsula) in the men's 400 (51.35), Tammy Carlson (Jr., Ridgefield) in the women's shot put (35-10 3/4) and Jessica Telleria (So., Boise, ID/Capital) in the weight throw (39-1 3/4).

Placing third for Western were Scott Romney (Jr., Gig Harbor) in the men's pole vault (14-5 1/4), and Kim Radke (So., East Wenatchee/Eastmont) in both the shot put (35-2 1/2) and weight throw (36-10 1/4).

Two Vikings competed Saturday in the invitational section with women's pole vaulter Danielle Juarez (Sr., Olympia/North Thurston) placing 11th as did men's distance runner Steve DeKoker (Sr., Maple Valley/Tahoma) in the 3,000.

Juarez, who missed the 2003 outdoor season because of a knee injury, cleared 11-9 3/4 to meet the provisional national qualifying standard. She earned outdoor All-America honors in 2002, placing fifth at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

DeKoker was clocked in 8:31.76.
