MAPLE FALLS, Wash. - Western Washington University's Kurt Hartmaier (Sr., Woodinville/Redmond) and Laura Trevellyan (Fr., Vashon) won the men's and women's collegiate sections as the Vikings defeated Seattle Pacific University in a cross country dual meet at Silver Lake Park.

Trevellyan completed the 2.9-mile course in 18:24, helping the Vikings claim a 26-29 victory over the Falcons. Western's Molly DePasqual (Fr., Jackson, WY/Jackson Hole) was second in the collegiate field in 18:42, and Seattle Pacific's Nicole Seana third in 18:44. Kathleen Harri of Club Northwest was the overall individual winner in the women's race, finishing in 17:29.

DePasqual's two-second margin over Seana, and Tina Stinson (Jr., Renton/Liberty) of Western finishing just one second ahead of Kristen Bjork of Seattle Pacific for sixth were the key finishes for the Vikings in grabbing the three-point edge.

Hartmaier completed the same course in 15:15, 14 seconds behind overall winner Ben Sauvage of Club Northwest. The Vikings swept the first eight places as the Falcons had only one competitor in the field. Western's Jon Carwin (Fr., Kirkland/Lake Washington) was second in the collegiate field in 15:58, followed by Brian Brancheau (Jr., Edmonds/Edmonds-Woodway) in 16:09.

Western hosts the 29th annual WWU Invitational next Saturday (10 a.m.) at Bellingham's Lake Padden Park.
