Oct. 28, 2002 BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University's Paul Kezes has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 20-26. It is the third time he has received the weekly honor this season. Kezes, a sophomore from Bellingham (Sehome High graduate), took GNAC Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year accolades as he finished first in the league meet by 20 seconds with a time of 24:20.85 over the 8-kilometer course. Kezes has won all three races he has competed in this season, taking the invitational title at the Sundodger meet and winning the Western Invitational. Western, which placed fourth as a team at the GNAC Championships, competes in the West Regional on Nov. 9 at Fresno, Calif. |
