Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Two Viking rowers named CRCA All-Americans
May 22, 2007 BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University's Lindsay Mann-King was named for the third time and Staci Reynolds was recognized for the first time on the 2007 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division II Pocock Women's Rowing All-America Team announced today. Mann-King, a senior from Colville, is the No.7 seat; and Reynolds, a junior from Vancouver, is the stroke in the Vikings' varsity eight shell that has been ranked No.1 nationally all season long in the CRCA Coaches Poll. Western, which won its fourth straight West Regional title, is going after a third consecutive NCAA II national championship this weekend at Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mann-King, the team captain and a 2002 graduate of Colville High School, has been in Western's top boat for the last four seasons. She becomes just the ninth athlete in school history to receive All-America honors three or more years, and the second in women's rowing. Julia Gamache, a varsity eight stroke, was a three-time All-American for the Vikings from 2004 to 2006. "Lindsay broke all the records in fitness testing this year, records which may never well be beaten again," said Western coach John Fuchs. "As the captain and only four-year rower on the team, Lindsay has accepted and performed well in her leadership role. She is extremely competitive and demands the most of her team." Reynolds, a 2004 graduate of Columbia River High School, is a three-year letter winner. It is her third trip to nationals. "Staci has set the bar very high in terms of discipline and commitment to the team," Fuchs said. "She has stroked the crew from the beginning of the year and has done a fantastic job, earning the respect of her peers through her hard work."
